11 things you don’t know about AppsFlyer’s Managing Director of Africa&CIS, Micheal Zaitsev

This week, the spotlight shines on Michael Zaitsev, the Managing Director of Africa&CIS for AppsFlyer.

Zaitsev is an experienced leader in the mobile app industry and has worked with AppsFlyer for over six years. He has a proven track record of developing and executing successful strategies for mobile app growth and marketing.

Zaitsev will also be speaking at AppsFlyer’s mobile growth meetup scheduled to hold May 31st in Lagos, Nigeria. Apply here to attend .

AppsFlyer is an Israel-based company and corporate member of the Association of Digital Marketing Professionals of Nigeria (ADMARP).

ADMARP: Did you choose marketing, or marketing chose you?

Zaitsev: Marketing chose me. I worked as a Data analyst, which was super exciting, but I barely saw people. Working at AppsFlyer taught me I’m a people person more than numbers. The rest is history

ADMARP: What is your greatest weakness?

Zaitsev: Being a people person is a significant strength. Sometimes decisions are difficult as I put people first.

ADMARP: What can you describe as the most groundbreaking moment/period in your career journey?

Zaitsev: Working with people, driving them to break their glass ceilings, and being able to fulfill their dreams, I’m happy that I can do it, and it’s driving me every day.

ADMARP: What is your favorite food?

Zaitsev: I’m a meat lover. Any meat, at any minute of the day

ADMARP: What food do you think is the most overrated?

Zaitsev: Ice cream

ADMARP: Tell us something, an unpopular opinion about marketing that you think people should embrace more?

Zaitsev: Marketing is the key to success. Doing brand awareness, for example, is an excellent example of putting seeds for your future customers. Not always marketing is measurable, but if it is, AppsFlyer will measure it.

ADMARP: If you weren’t a marketing expert, what would you have done differently in life?

Zaitsev: Agriculture. I love to work with flowers and love to see it’s growing; and even more to see some fruits that I have grown by myself

ADMARP: What state are you from?

Zaitsev: Israel. Israel is a fantastic place that you can find four different seas, a desert, mountains with snow, and lots of smiling people

ADMARP: What are you afraid of the most?

Zaitsev: War, I hope that we will someday see a different global leadership that will think only about development and not wars
