Dear members of the Association of Digital Marketing Professionals of Nigeria (ADMARP),
As we begin the new year, I wanted to take a moment to reach out and wish you all a happy and successful 2023. I am honored to have been appointed as the new President of ADMARP and I take this responsibility seriously. I understand that I have big shoes to fill, following in the footsteps of my friend and pioneer President, Oti Ukubeyinje, and his team, who have recorded many successes during their tenure. I would like to take a moment to celebrate and acknowledge their hard work and accomplishments, which included the revamp of the ADMARP website, the introduction of paid corporate membership plans, and the onboarding of our very first paying corporate members.
As we move forward into the new year, I believe that there are many disruptive trends and challenges that we need to be aware of and prepared for as digital marketing professionals. One of these trends is the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the industry. While AI has the potential to revolutionize marketing as we see it in Nigeria, it also presents its own set of challenges for marketers as it puts many of our jobs at risk. As AI becomes more prevalent, it will be important for us to stay up-to-date on the latest developments and consider how we can use AI ethically and effectively in our work.
Another challenge that we are facing in the industry is the move towards a cookieless world. With the increasing use of privacy-focused browsers and the phasing out of third-party cookies, we as marketers will need to find new ways to track and measure the effectiveness of their campaigns. This will require us to be more creative and strategic in our approach to marketing, and to find new ways to collect and analyze data. We need to lead this conversation with our clients and partners in 2023 if we are not doing so already..
I am committed to advancing the Association’s 2-year roadmap and working towards establishing a sustainable, member-led structure that will professionalize the practice of digital marketing in Nigeria. I also plan to engage with strategic stakeholders to contribute to policy formulation and regulatory activities in the digital marketing space.
I cannot do this alone and I need the support of all members to make ADMARP the Association we all dream it to be. I encourage all of you to get involved and contribute and volunteer your skills and expertise to the Association. If you have not yet taken up ADMARP paid membership, I encourage you to do so this month and support the association. I also encourage you to talk about ADMARP and spread the “gospel” of the Association to colleagues and organizations who may benefit from joining us.
I wish you all a happy and successful 2023.
Sincerely,
Stanislaus Martins
ADMARP President
